"If you take a small to medium-sized business, such as Speakman, the advantages and the opportunities and the resources that the World Trade Center has to offer are huge.  You've just got to reach out.  Some of our competitors did not make it through the financial crisis.  I attribute our success a lot to Rebecca and her team, because whenever I was not sure, or whenever I had an issue that I was afraid to make a decision on, I sent an email over or made a call and asked for feedback.  They are right on board immediately.  They give you the confidence that you can succeed, and we have."
Mary Ann Juliano-Summers, Speakman Company

"The World Trade Center is a resource in a number of ways.  They help us to network with other companies who export, so we can find out how they're doing it, find out what mistakes they've made and how we can try to avoid these kinds of mistakes....  Really the statistics on exporting are amazing that only 1% of the companies in the United States export anything at all, and the World Trade Center has been one of the main resources we've found that has helped us alleviate our fears.  What I recommend to many people who export is to contact the World Trade Center, they are the best people."
Steven Miles, Analtech, Inc.

"The World Trade Center provides access to areas that we couldn't get access to immediately, because the World Trade Center is around the world."
Charles Rudd, Mechanical Services Inc.

"Thanks for the help.  It's good to know that my World Trade Center is just an email or call away."
Peter Martinez, Kapejo Inc.

"The World Trade Center Delaware, as part of the global community, is an invaluable resource in the import and export marketplace.  They specialize in connecting decision makers and innovators from one nation to another.  The scope of their expertise includes an international business savvy on a par to none.

In today’s challenging economic times, the World Trade Center Delaware serves as a guiding light advancing the understanding of the regulations on the international playing field.  Whether importing, exporting, seeking contacts in other countries or otherwise expanding your business and trade opportunities, the World Trade Center Delaware has the answers that you need.  They provide access to worldwide market and trade opportunities and the Port of Wilmington is a big supporter."
Debra Thompson, Manager - Marketing Services, Port of Wilmington

"They've helped to provide us with really good background checks on particular distributors.  If you are interested in a country and someone has approached you and you don't know them... [WTC Delaware] can research them, check their credit.  And if you are just interested in the country in general they have some really good info and statistics in their [library of] country profiles."
Steven Miles, Analtech, Inc.

"The majority of our clients are right now in North America, primarily in the U.S. and Mexico, but we have active developments in South America, we have customers in South Africa, and we do business in the Middle East-Africa and in Asia.  The World Trade Center has helped us in many ways.  It has helped us network with similar countries in the region and helped us with international research around some of the regulations, for example.  One of the biggest benefits is the contacts they were able to establish for us with officials in other countries.  For example we've been introduced to the Consuls of Mexico and Brazil, we've been to events with officials from countries where we have trade partners such as China and Bahrain.  It's been amazing that we've been able to gain access to high officials in these countries, which is usually a problem for a relatively small company like ours."
Chris Ungermann, Halosil International, Inc.

"Since joining the World Trade Center I've found that I've been able to provide our clients with a wider range of resources and I've found our contacts there are very helpful.  The World Trade Center offers many different programs which are helpful for you for growing your business here in the United States."
Linda Grund, STAT Office Solutions

About Global Networking
"I am sitting in Dubai waiting for my plane - I found the contact at the World Trade Center [in Dubai] valuable.  He should be a help to my sales representative in the region.  They were very informative on Lebanon also.  Thanks for the contact."
"The World Trade Center has been really great.  They made appointments for us when we were in Qatar so we were able to meet with people there."
Dick Johnson, AutoPort Inc.

"I think that contacts and associations are very important to the success of any business and you are only as successful as your ability to be involved.  You have to be hands-on and willing to look at new things because the economy and the globe is always changing, so you have to be open to new ideas."
Steven Dawson, D&S Warehousing, Inc.

"As an entrepreneur and a businessman I could not just pick up a phone and call up a consul out of Philadelphia that's working in Brazil or Chile or South America or Mexico, but when I go through the World Trade Center, they can assist and it's almost immediate."
Charles Rudd, Mechanical Services Inc.

"World Trade Center's biggest benefit is the introduction to overseas contacts, the follow-through - when we are over there we know at least someone knows we are out of the country, and if we have a problem we can say 'Hey, we need help!' and we'll call Rebecca, and Rebecca will come and rescue us.  We thank the World Trade Center in all their assistance in helping us with our international trade."
Charles Rudd, Mechanical Services Inc.

About the Seminars and Roundtables
"I think one of the most helpful benefits are the ongoing Roundtables.  I have found that they are focused on a particular country within that region which is extremely helpful.  In addition we're networking with people who are already exporting to those countries, or hope to, so they are in the same boat we are.  The networking is focused and the information is focused and that to me has been the best benefit so far.  It takes away a lot of the fewer of exporting to that country, you get a snapshot (through the country profile) of what the country is like, you get to talk to other people who export there."
Steven Miles, Analtech, Inc.

"I would say that a majority of our clients on the export side are in the Middle East, so we have 25 dealerships that we work with including GM and Ford.  Basically what we are trying to do is add a little more zest to the vehicles that are going through here so they have more sell-ability when they are in that marketplace....  The thing that has been really helpful for us is that we're actually talking to some other people who are selling and shipping into the Middle East.  We've basically change our whole method of selling and shipping into the Middle East at the recommendation of some people we met at the World Trade Center seminars.  At the Roundtables there are some other people who have been actively involved in the Middle East who have given us some guidance on what we could do and some other opportunities, so it's been really invaluable."
Dick Johnson, AutoPort Inc.

"The business-directed network meetings such as the Middle East Roundtables have been the most beneficial for us.  We've participated very actively in those and we've met a lot of people and they've learned from us and we've learned from them.  So just meeting the people who are doing business in Delaware and exporting to the same area is very helpful and has been invaluable."
Dick Johnson, AutoPort Inc.

"They bring in people from different regions of the country, or different regions of the world, and we sit down together and we talk about the benefits of importing and exporting and network."
Steven Dawson, D&S Warehousing, Inc.

"[World Trade Center Delaware] connects the business community - there are Roundtable events that I have attended where small businesses like ours from very diverse industries come together and talk about their similar problems that they are facing.  It helps you to feel like you are not alone and it also helps you to make connections to other companies and share resources and share ideas."
Chris Ungermann, Halosil International, Inc.

"The Roundtable meetings are probably one of my favorite things from the World Trade Center because each one is different.  You go in and there are guest speakers, there is networking and brainstorming, and you get to meet people who have been in our position, and you are able to listen and learn and ask questions.  It's a growth, and you come back with a real learned experience."
Mary Ann Juliano-Summers, Speakman Company

About Referrals
"Currently we have a relationship in South America, Santiago, Chile, with a large company and we are working with them now.  Sometimes there is a language barrier but the World Trade Center will often-times provide access to a translator.  They also provide us with access to things that we normally couldn't get access to immediately."
Charles Rudd, Mechanical Services Inc.

About the Newsletter
"They have a great newsletter that they send out that has a good snapshot of different countries and different regions that's very beneficial and not too lengthy, so it doesn't take a lot of time to catch up on the world...."
Steven Miles, Analtech, Inc.
