Sanosil International Awarded Strategic Fund from the State

NEWARK , Del. (Jan. 5, 2010) – Sanosil International, a manufacturer and marketer of eco-friendly disinfection and water treatment products, will expand its operations in Delaware. With a loan of $750,000 from the Delaware Strategic Fund , the company will create over 50 new jobs to expand marketing, accelerate research and development and increase inventory of its product lines. The investment also includes the relocation of the company's headquarters to a 5,000 square foot facility that includes a laboratory and warehouse in New Castle .

Governor Jack Markell and Alan Levin , director of the Delaware Economic Development Office , joined company executives to make the announcement this afternoon at the new headquarters. Chris Ungermann, President, gave a brief overview of the company's strategic objectives and thanked DEDO for its support.

Sanosil International was founded in 2008 by Chris Lundin to capitalize on a global market opportunity for an anti-microbial technology, originally developed in Switzerland . At the time, Sanosil was an established brand in Europe only. Now, Lundin is making the brand available worldwide to markets including the US , South America and Africa . Sanosil disinfectants and water microbiocide are comprised of a proprietary blend of safe and proven ingredients that effectively kill viruses, bacteria and fungi and have no harmful effects on the environment.

In addition to ecological disinfectants, the company provides biological cleaning agents and natural parasite control solutions. Sanosil technologies are ideal for a wide range of applications; however the company is primarily focused on providing solutions for water treatment in cooling towers and infectious disease control in hospitals, schools and gyms. Recently, the company also designed and manufactured a ground-breaking new device that is able to disinfect entire rooms automatically, at the touch of a button. Sanosil currently has 7 employees with plans to add over 50 more in the next three years.

“Sanosil International is an excellent example of the type of company we seek to assist and grow in Delaware ,” said DEDO Director Alan Levin . “The small business delivers sustainable technology with a line of innovative, eco-friendly products, which will create critical jobs in a growing industry for Delaware 's future. I am proud that we were able to make the necessary investments to allow Sanosil to expand in Delaware .”

Sanosil Disinfectants have met U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards for disinfection and various other regulatory standards around the world for disinfection and drinking water treatment. Sanosil has been tested effective against 2009 H1N1, SARS, HIV, E.Coli, Legionella and many other high-risk bacteria, viruses and fungi.

“We are very fortunate to have been awarded the DEDO loan and appreciate the support we have received from local, state and community leaders,” said Chris Lundin. “We look forward to further developing our disinfecting technology to better protect people and the environment, as well as to helping to create new jobs in the Delaware area.”
