Speakman: Exports on the Rise
WTC Delaware member announces five-year high in export sales
WILMINGTON, DE- April 14, 2010- Speakman Company, member of the World Trade Center Delaware, announced March as its highest sales month in the past five years. For Speakman Co., March 2010 showed a substantial two-thirds growth in their total monthly export sales.
It’s no question that the standards behind Speakman Company have set them far apart from other competing manufacturers. Speakman Co., originating 140 years ago as a plumbing manufacturer, has been structured with four autonomous business structures (SABU): Plumbing (PLMB), Showering (SHWR), Safety (SAF), and Clean Renewable and Sustainable (CRS). Their exports focus on emergency eyewash and shower equipment, plumbing and showerheads. Speakman Co.’s line is renowned for quality, innovation, and durability.
Mary Ann Summers, Inside Sales/ Export Manager, Speakman Co., credited working personally with World Trade Center Delaware as an essential means to their exporting success. Specifically, Summers spoke in favor of the Regional Roundtable Discussions organized for the members of the World Trade Center Delaware. She affirmed, “Roundtable discussions have been huge as far as networking and sharing information.”
Rebecca Faber, President/ CEO, World Trade Center Delaware, and John Pastor, Director of International Trade and Development for the State of Delaware, worked closely with Summers to aid in the direction of export sales for Speakman Co. “Rebecca and John were important in bringing international business in-house (at Speakman Co.) and setting up the whole process through the (World Trade Center Delaware) organization,” said Summers.
