WILMINGTON, DE, February 2, 2009 - World Trade Center Delaware is pleased to announce that Sky-Trax, Inc. has been chosen as the featured member for the month of February 2009.
Who: Sky-Trax, Inc.
Where: New Castle, Delaware USA
What:
Sky-Trax, Inc. addresses operational challenges within warehouse environments. Specializing in indoor, inch-accurate, real-time warehouse location applications; Sky-Trax is the pioneer of Optical Real-Time Location Systems for tracking all indoor assets and inventory. Sky-Trax is a full-service engineering technology company providing sensors, software, systems, services, and solutions to serve a wide range of safety, process optimization, and productivity needs.
Solutions:
Sky-Trax warehouse applications help warehouse professionals substantially increase safety and dramatically improve warehouse efficiency resulting in fewer safety incidents, much lower operating costs and greater inventory throughput.
- Sky-Trax applications work in every warehouse and are highly accurate, highly reliable and economical to deploy.
- Sky-Trax has targeted its IPS Technology™ to address stubborn operational challenges for warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial facilities that have forklifts and similar industrial vehicle fleet operations. Sky-Trax technology will alter the way owners manage and optimize industrial vehicle fleets by providing real-time precise location tracking data, as well as full historical path and behavior data of these assets and their drivers.
- Sky-Trax application serve as the technical foundation of a future that includes automated workflow, routing optimization, an a completely automated warehouse.
Products:
- STS - The Sky-Trax System™ (Patent Pending) tracks the movement of vehicles such as lift trucks inside factories and warehouses. STS automatically determines vehicle position with great accuracy and provides real-time position data to the driver. It can record precise location data for the movement of goods within a bulk storage area and guide the driver to the next pick-up or put-away spot. The system captures and displays the location of all vehicles, aiding managers, warehouse operators and/or computer systems such as warehouse management systems. Sky-Trax STS™ works like a GPS, but unlike GPS, it works reliably indoors. Sky-Trax technology is based on optical components instead of radio wave technology so the system is immune to radio interference and not affected by building construction materials or contents.
- The Skan-Free System™ For real-time access to complete and accurate data collection, Skan-Free is the solution that will allow your drivers to just drive and work safer, while automatically collecting essential data. Skan-Free removes human error through the automation of specific inventory data collection. Skan-Free eliminates obsolete data collection methods such as hand held bar code scanners, clipboards, and data entry terminals. Skan-Free is optically based and powered by Sky-Trax technology, making this revolutionary system a great alternative to RFID base systems for data collection and pallet identification. Skan-Free allows drivers to concentrate on vehicle operations without stopping for manual data collection tasks. With Skan-Free automatically record: pallet ID, time, and truck ID.
- For complete asset and inventory tracking, the Total-Trax™ System is the comprehensive solution that utilizes cutting edge-technology to achieve inch-accurate tracking and real-time productivity. The Total-Trax system is the integration of two of Sky-Trax's primary systems: the Sky-Trax System (STS) and Skan-Free. STS, a cutting edge indoor positioning system, monitors and tracks every vehicle all the time, anywhere in your facility providing precise location, direction and speed. Skan-Free automates data collection, through collecting inventory data with an Optical Label Reader (OLR), eliminating the need for hand-held inventory scanners, driver multi-tasking and data entry terminals. Total-Trax records who (truck ID), where (location) and when (time) so you know: exact pallet location and identification, vehicle location, and exact movement of ALL your warehouse's needs.
- Sky-Marx™ Overhead labeling system places location labels above factory and warehouse floors, providing perfect positioning for bar code scanning. Sky-Marx location labels contain a bar code and/or human readable text. When items are placed into storage areas, each location label identifies the corresponding floor area below it. A scanner then reads the label and its location is recorded. Sky-Marx™ location labels: last much longer then floor labels applications, are easy to read and scan, can be permanently positioned or easily relocated, and require almost no maintenance.
- Sky-Trax Pallet Detector™ offers a ruggedized and reliable optical method of detecting unit loads on forklift trucks. Designed primarily to provide an electronic signal indicating pallet acquisition for use with automated on-board systems, the Pallet Detector signal can also be used to alert the driver that a load has been acquired. The Sky-Trax Pallet Detector is intended to be used with standard pallets containing center support ribs.
- Sky-Trax Lift Height Sensor™ is designed to determine the specific height of a fork truck's forks when performing picking or put away of a pallet in a rack storage area.
- Fork Alert™ Safety System, from Wickham, is the world-leading pedestrian early warning system used in workplace locations where forklift operations could present a significant danger to pedestrians. Fork Alert™ warns pedestrians and forklift drivers that a forklift is approaching.
- Door-Man Intersection Caution System (ICS) (patent pending), from Door-Man Manufacturing Company, is designed to address safety concerns that arise when forklifts and pedestrians maneuver within the same space.
Distinctiveness:
Sky-Trax is the developer and supplier of the revolutionary Optical Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS). Sky-Trax provides the only tracking technology designed for indoor use that delivers inch-accurate location data in real time with robust streaming location data that also knows the direction and speed of all tracked assets. Sky-Trax Optical RTLS is so accurate, repeatable, and reliable that automated inventory tracking is possible WITHOUT bar code scanners or RFID equipment. Sky-Trax Optical technology is also being considered for guidance and navigation of free-roaming driverless fork trucks.
