The objective of the Foreign Policy Town Meetings is to provide an opportunity for the exchange of views between the U.S.Department of State and the American public. This is an opportunity for participants to be heard by Senior U.S. policy-makersand have their views carried back to Washington.
The format of the Forum will consist of a 30-minute address followed by a question and answer period.

About the speaker:
Jason Hackworth is currently the Desk Officer for Ireland and Northern Ireland, primarily working on theformulation and implementation of U.S. policy toward and bilateral relationships with Ireland and NorthernIreland. A consular officer by trade, Jason has served overseas in the U.S. Consulate General in Florence,Italy; the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, Japan; and most recently in the U.S. Embassy in Port Louis, Mauritius.Jason graduated from Denison University with a B.A. in creative writing in 2001 and joined the ForeignService in 2003.
