Carla Sydney Stone
President
Ms. Carla Sydney Stone is the new President of the World Trade Center Delaware, where she is responsible for leading the overall organization mission and strategy, performance, Board governance and public representation. She assumes this position having served as Executive Director since October, 2016. Before joining the World Trade Center Delaware, Carla Stone was principal of International Development & Technical Assistance, LLC, a firm that works at the intersection of engineering and public health and human capacity building around the world. Previously, she led international technical assistance programs at Delaware Tech and the University of Delaware. And worked in the energy and financial sectors. Carla Stone is a graduate of Columbia University’s (New York) Henry Krumb School of Mines with a B.S. degree in Mining Engineering, Geophysics Option and M. S. degree in Mining Engineering and Mineral Economics with additional training and certificates in water and wastewater operations, safety and international project management. Ms. Stone was honored by the US Small Business Administration with the “Exporter of the Year Award”, the Government of Romania for her work during the avian influenza outbreaks, and by Cankiri Karatekin University, Turkey. She is Past President of People to People International, Delaware Chapter, and serves on the International Council of Delaware. She served on the organizing committee of the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme supported “Benchmarking Telemedicine: Improving Health Security in the Balkans and is the editor of the recently published book of the same name.

Nesrin Cakiroglu
Director of Operations & Training
Ms. Nesrin Cakiroglu oversees day to day operations of the organization, facilitates trade and identification of potential trade partnerships between Delaware-based and international companies. She is also responsible for designing and conducting training and development programs for staff and interns in the areas of communications, marketing and trade information research to improve individual and organizational performance.
Ms. Cakiroglu’s other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ms. Cakiroglu is originally from Turkey having graduated from Wilmington University in 2012 with a master’s degree in Human Resources Management (Master of Science in Management), and another in Marketing Management (2013). Additionally, Ms. Cakiroglu completed her MBA degree at Wilmington University / College of Business in January 2019.
Ms. Cakiroglu has been in the USA for more than 15 years which has given her the opportunity to compare both American & Turkish work environments.

- Develop marketing materials to increase organizational performance
- Monitor training budget
- Prepare intern work schedules
Ms. Cakiroglu is originally from Turkey having graduated from Wilmington University in 2012 with a master’s degree in Human Resources Management (Master of Science in Management), and another in Marketing Management (2013). Erin McGrellis
Graphic Design Intern
As the Graphic Design Intern, Erin McGrellis assists in the design of flyers and media for World Trade Center Delaware and their events. Erin earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Studio Art from the University of Redlands located in Southern California. During her time at Redlands, Erin competed as a member of the Varsity swim team and worked as a studio assistant in the Typography studio. She earned academic distinction as a Scholar Athlete and as a member of the Dean’s List and Sigma Tau Delta honors society before graduating cum
laude in 2022.

Seyeon (Sena) Min
Research & Trade Information Intern
Seyeon Min is from the Republic of Korea. She joined the World Trade Center Delaware on November 13, 2023, as a Research & Trade Information intern. Seyeon worked as a design and research intern in an education start-up company while at Sookmyung Women’s University. She was responsible for creating the new character and background of the metaverse-based map. Seyeon is expected to receive her bachelor’s degree in industrial design and Global Business Development in February 2025. While at university, she served as a departmental student representative. She twice attended a design project exhibition in 2021~2022. She successfully established a new brand by reflecting social trends with her team. Seyeon received scholarships based on excellent language proficiency from the language education group, YBM in 2023. She studied in Rome, Italy as an exchange student for a semester in 2022. From this experience, she desired to learn more about global business in an international setting.
Seyeon loves traveling to explore diverse cultures. She has traveled not only in Italy but also Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and many other countries. She learned adaptability and independence by traveling to various countries and through new experiences. Seyeon likes to watch movies and enjoy visiting exhibitions. Travel and gaining new experiences are what drives her.
Research & Trade Information Intern
